Baby Ashlyn in 3D

Jake and Kailey's school had a fund raiser where you could bid on baskets and gift certificates. I was the only one that bid on the 3D ultasound for $50. I think it was well worth it considering that it normally costs $150. In fact, I would pay the full amount to have this done again (if we have another child). It is absolutely amazing. You can already tell that she looks so much like Kailey. Now we are even more anxious to hold her and kiss that face.

Happy Thanksgiving!

This is what I am most thankful for...
I tried to get a picture of Gavin without the hat, but he was not too happy about that. I think "thankful for my hat" should be listed as #4 on his shirt.
It looks like Kailey is most thankful for flowers. She just can't help herself.
Here are a few pics of the kids enjoying their turkey feast.
Gavin has mashed potatoes all over his face and hair. Hmmm, maybe even his eyelashes. ;)
Happy Turkey Day everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving too. Now it's time to put up the tree!

Trunk-or-Treat

Here are a couple of pics taken at my Dad's trunk-or-treat party on Friday night. Gavin was not feeling very well though. I suspected that he had an ear infection so, I made an appointment with the after hours clinic just before we left. At least Gavin and I got to be there for the food and games. Unfortunately, I had to leave with him just as the trunk or treat part started, but glad I was able to get him some medicine for his double ear infection. Hopefully we will all sleep better tonight and be ready for trick-or-treating tomorrow!

As I was driving in the car earlier today with Kailey in the back seat she said to me, "Mommy, you could be a sheep for Halloween cause they're all fat and cuddly." Oh, how she makes me laugh sometimes. She is just too precious...and honest.

Danger Zone

"Mmmm, these mashed potatoes are so creamy." (Let's see who can place that movie quote first) So, Gavin was exhausted at about 4:00 this afternoon without a nap. (Nap schedule gets a little messed up on the days I have to carpool in the afternoon.) I decided to whip up some left over mashed potatoes for him before laying him down. I offered him a quick bite while standing in the kitchen, and he got mad that I wasn't letting him hold the spoon. That is when he hit the bowl out of my hands and there went the mashed potatoes onto the floor and splashing up...
into my hair and even my eyelashes. Quit laughing!
Then, wait there's more, he decided to tip the recycle over that I was about to take out...
Hmmm, what a coincidence that he was wearing this shirt that says "Mommy's little monster"
But how could you stay mad at this...

Pumpkin Patch Pics of 09

Every year I take the kids down to the same pumpkin patch to take pictures of them in their Halloween costumes. I normally have someone go with me to help get the kids to smile, but obviously I didn't this time. I could not get one picture of all three of them looking at me while smiling. I also went at the wrong time of day (12:00 noon) which was really dumb of me, but at least there was a big shade tree. I still had to deal with a lot of harsh backlight, not to mention 100 degree weather, so we may have to reshoot. Anyway, here is the best we could do...

Jedi Jake. He is so funny. He would not let me comb his hair because he wanted to make it looks as much like Luke Skywalker's as possible. He also has asked me to not cut his hair until after halloween.

Kailey, on the other hand, loves to get all dolled up. She loved the way her hair looked with a tiara in it. She said that if Daddy saw her, he would fall over.

Gavin was not too sure about wearing this costume in the heat. I could not coax a smile out of the poor guy. I can't say I blame him. He still makes a cute little elephant though.

Got stuck. Oh man.
I love the little tail. Sooo cute!
They were very patient and willing to let me take pictures of them today, so they really deserved a treat. Yummy rock candy.

My kids now look forward to our tradition of making festive gingerbread houses. I still have lots of left over candy that I plan to send to my sisters. I am anxious to see what you guys will come up with! (especially Darci with her new found talent of cake decorating) So here are a few pics of our little haunted village...

Jake just getting started...
I don't know where he gets the morbid idea to make his rat look like it had just been caught in a trap with blood all over it!
Sweet Kailey girl. We went through three houses with her. She just didn't quite understand how gentle you have to be with the roof. Poor thing...
Here is my house...
Gotta love how the "gummie rat" from the dollar store was rock hard. Yum.
And for the final touch...
I don't think I'll ever get tired of that movie quote. Yeah, I know, I guess I have too much time on my hands these days.
