Our little Quail Tale

Here is a picture of my flower pot that is right by my front door.  If you look closely you will notice a nest of quail eggs.  We had been anxiously waiting for about 4 weeks...
Two days ago they hatched and left with their mommy and daddy...
All but two. (I love this picture because it shows his cute little ploom on the top of his head)
The last two were a little confused as they thought that Kailey was their Mommy. They followed her even into the house...
Kailey was begging me to let her be their Mommy and keep them...

It was very tempting, but I knew that we needed to let them be and hope that their real parents came back for them, which they did.  Yeah!
And this is how I spent the rest of my day...
baking cupcakes and sugar cookies for Brittany's bridal shower.  The shower turned out beautiful and all of the hard work was worth the look on Brittany's face when she saw the decorated table.

How precious! Marvelous pics! What a unique opportunity for you and kids. Thank you for sharing with us. Kailey is soooo YOU! Only you could "mother" the wild cats when you were little. So glad the parenting quail returned for the others. Do you know where they went? It would be fun to get up-dates on their progress. As for those tempting cupcakes and SUGAR COOKIES...WOW! Beautiful job. I'm impressed! A lot of hard work. Did you happen to get any pics of the decorated table? I would love to see it. [I won't show Randy your baking pics, he'll be so jealous...YES I will! I can be such a stinker sometimes.] BTW, what did you think of Kailey's preschool pics? I, too, wish that Kaiely Girl could have kept those baby quails. She would have been a great mommy for them. We miss you all soooo much!

Now it's my turn to type! :o) You probably thought either my or your computer was having difficulties! Sorry for the scare if there was one! I absolutely love this post! How precious, it does so remind me of you when you were a little girl charming the stray cats...Kailey Girl is sure like her mommy! You have such a wonderful eye for taking pics. And some mad skills in the kitchen too! That took some talent and PATIENCE I am sure to do those cookies on a stick! "I wash myself with a rag on a stick." If you don't know that reference, let me know and I can fill you in! I too would love to see photos of the finished table! Please tell me you took some and will post them! Give your kids big hugs and kisses for me!
